You are missed
March 9, 2007
The snow settles and the phones begin to ring
A shift takes place
Just previously, the night before, you thought of me
As you lay dying, my father made no move to leave the house
Now we all gather in grief over how persuasive bad weather really can be
And look lovingly into your coffin
I see now that no moment, big or small could replace the love
You had for me
But my memories keep you alive and well in my mind
Your love carries through the guilt and reminds us we are all human
Just a mortal life in growth
With mistakes clawing at my back
I look to the sky and a warmth covers me
I will never forget you
